RINA GRI

Moscow artist, performative practitioner, member of the International Art Foundation

For me, art is a way to express inner transformations in the language of line, texture and color in canvases, and body language in performative practices.

I work and live in Moscow. I have been painting for more than 25 years. Multiple participant and prize-winner of Russian and international exhibitions ("100th anniversary of VKHUTEMAS. VKHUTEIN", "Night at the Museum" in the New Tretyakov Gallery, the State Darwin Museum, etc.).

I studied at the IPK named after. Moscow City Council, Kosygin Russian State University of Fine Arts (specializing in fashion designer). She studied under the guidance of Professor of the Department of Drawing and Painting A. S. Sheboldaev, associate professors of the department E. P. Counterikov and Yu. S. Avdeev, Honored Artist of Russia E. A. Kazantsev. Finalist of the Couturier of the Year 2008 contest.

In my art, I consider issues of self-identification, personal boundaries, and the interaction of a person and the social environment. I use the language of color planes and textures in canvases, body language in performative practices.

I paint realistic landscapes with graphic elements in oil and watercolor. Prefers medium and enlarged canvas sizes. I use a bright light palette and shades of sky blue to create a sense of serenity and joy on a clear day.

In 2008, I founded the byFilyaeva women's clothing brand, which produces capsule collections of prêt-à-porter women's clothing. In the field of art, dress and textiles as such occupy a central place.

Since 2019, I have been conducting performative practices around the world, exploring the topic of femininity. I set myself the task of writing a new myth that gives an understanding of the role of women in modern society.
